On Sunday the Under 12s will be the first Quins team to take the field in the Carmarthenshire Cup Finals day. In their first season of competitive, fifteen a side rugby the young Quins team have done extremely well throughout the season and a visit to the final is well deserved for their efforts.
The Quins side have been on the road for the previous three rounds. They visited Llandovery in the preliminary round and played the game as a curtain raiser for the senior sides. Previous games against Llandovery have always been closely contested and this was no different but some cool and calm thinking by the Quins saw them run out winner 12 points to nil to set them on their cup journey,
Next up was an away trip to Penybanc where the Quins showed some class and mature thinking with their play to emerge victorious 53pts to nil.
The Semi Final saw a trip to Felinfoel where a keen game was expected but the Quins side exerted the upper hand early on and controlled all areas of the game and booked their deserved place in the final with a 33pts to 5 victory much to the delight of players, parents and the additional travelling support.
The Quins will face Newcastle Emlyn in the final which will be a fantastic game to watch we are sure with some players from both sides in the same school so all will be keen to get the bragging rights after the Easter Holidays.
Of course it is not only the cup at stake there is also the opportunity to play at Parc y Scarlets for the winners at the Regional Finals day.
Whatever the result all at the club are extremely proud of the achievements of this group of players.
