After two opening rounds of Super Rygbi Cymru action Carmarthen Quins currently sit in third place in the league table, having secured a victory against Swansea and narrowly losing to Aberavon away from home last weekend.
The opening round, against Swansea, saw a young Quins side cross the whitewash for five tries as they romped home to a 39-29 victory.
Two more tries were scored in last Saturday’s clash at the Talbot Athletic Ground, and despite the loss another all-important bonus point was secured.
The average age of the Carmarthen Quins squad for both opening rounds has been just 23, with some exciting young talent looking to make their mark in the team and the new league.
Hooker Lewis Morgan, 21, has come out of the blocks at pace scoring four tries in two games.
This weekend’s third round clash will see second-placed Cardiff travel to Carmarthen Park looking to build on their early dominance in the competition and put pressure on leaders Newport.
