Quins team v Pontypool for first home game of the 2025-26 season

Carmarthen Quins make a welcome return to Carmarthen Park this weekend, taking on Pontypool RFC in the third round of the 2025-26 Super Rygbi Cymru competition.

Quins make a return to the Park for the first time since the end of last season, looking to build on what was a memorable victory over Cardiff just over a week ago.

A last-minute penalty, by outside half Elis Price, sealed the win for the Quins at the Arms Park.

The bonus point victory sees us sitting in fifth position in the table, with Saturday’s opposition Pontypool in 7th place with one victory and one defeat.

Looking ahead to the third-round clash, Director of Rugby and Team Manager Steff Thomas said;

“Certainly, going into Ponytpool we’re going to be buoyant on the back of two good performances, even though we haven’t had two results, certainly on the back of tonight going into a home game at Carmarthen Park, excites us and we’ll look to build on [the Cardiff victory].”

There are just three changes to the starting XV that started against Cardiff RFC. Scarlets’ Ioan Jones comes in on the wing for Dafydd Waters, Rhodri Davies starts at nine, and Rhys Fawcett returns to the loosehead position in place of Scarlets’ Sam O’Connor.
