Team to face Aberavon at Carmarthen Park

Super Rygbi Cymru makes a return tomorrow evening, Thursday 12th December, after Storm Darragh forced the cancellation of all grassroots rugby last weekend.

It’s a first home game for the Quins since late October with Thursday night’s clash against Aberavon the halfway point in the league.

Currently sat in sixth position in the league table, with 22 points, a home victory will be crucial to keep the pressure on the teams in the top half of the table.

Aberavon meanwhile have two games in hand and have won only two games so far this season, one of which was a 24-18 home victory over Quins.

Scrum half Rhodri Davies will lead the side out at Carmarthen Park, and the game will also be broadcast live on S4C Chwaraeon Facebook and YouTube.

Experienced outside half Aled Thomas is named alongside Davies with Jac Howells and Iestyn Gwilliam in the centre. Louis Rees, Ifan Davies and Eilir George make up the back-three.

The front row, of James Newnian, Sion Jones and Connor Allen, remain unchanged from the side that faced Newport two weeks ago. Ryan Bean and Lee Taylor partner in the second row, while Scarlets’ Ben Williams joins Tom Curry and Lewys Millin in the back row.

Tighthead prop Ifan James will make his 50th appearance from the replacements bench.
