Senior men & women: Tokyo 2026 World Championship awaits!
We’re on a mission to grow Wales Deaf Rugby. You could be a part of our next World Cup squad travelling to Tokyo in November 2026!
Whether you’re an aspiring player (senior, youth or junior), a dedicated coach, or professional support staff, Wales Deaf Rugby has a place for you.
Here’s what many don’t realise:
To play for Wales Deaf Rugby at international level (including World Cups), players need an average hearing loss of 40 decibels or more across both ears. That includes people who may be fully deaf in one ear but have good hearing in the other. If the combined average is 40dB or above, they qualify.
Not sure of hearing levels? No problem.
Wales Deaf Rugby’s sponsor, Specsavers, offer free hearing tests for anyone over 18 years of age. This will confirm whether you meet the criteria.
If you do qualify, Wales Deaf want to hear from you!
Let’s help more players pull on the Welsh jersey and represent our country at rugby on the world stage.
