Young Quins in regional and international action this weekend

Wales U19 men’s team will face England at Ystrad Mynach on Friday 19 December (KO 15:00).

Carmarthen Quins outside half Carwyn Leggatt-Jones has been named in Richard Wiffin’s starting XV for the clash.

Head coach Wiffin said: It’s always a good challenge to play against England, the boys will be up for the game and the challenge against our closest rivals so it’s great to have them come over the bridge and take us on at Ystrad Mynach,”

“It will be a challenge for the boys, it has been a short week but a good week integrating the group of players again – for a lot of these boys it is a last chance to put their hand up for Six Nations selection so not only is it an important game for preparation for the tournament, but there are also spots up for grabs.”

Meanwhile, Elis Price has been named in Scarlets’ matchday squad for the BKT URC clash against Cardiff Rugby on Friday evening.

Price is set for his URC debut after being named among the replacements.

Scarlets head coach Dwayne Peel said: “This is a massive game for us, it is important we start climbing the table. The last four games, and I’m counting the Sharks game in South Africa, we look more like the way we want to look, the way we finished towards the end of last season.

“Cardiff have been going well and winning games at the death which shows they have character. These matches have always been high-contested, high-scoring, physical games and we are expecting more of the same. It promises to be another great occasion with a big crowd.”
