Come and give club legend Haydn Pugh the send-off he deserves by coming down to Carmarthen Park, Saturday 10th August, to support his testimonial match. It’s going to be a special day and night but also a curtain raiser for our 150th year.
Players Locked In
Shane Williams, 87 caps for Wales and 4 British Lions. In 2008, Williams became the first Welshman to be named IRB Player of the Year. We can’t wait to see him flying down the park!
Rob McCusker, former Scarlets Captain and Welsh International, and fellow North Walian to Pugh. Looking forward to seeing some big hits on the park!
Last but not least, Rob Evans. Rob is a true Q4L, having learned his trade straight from the academy and going on to play 39 times for Wales. Also a true Scarlet legend, it will be a special time for him playing on the park with his brother Ollie.
Get ready to see your favourite players in action, all coming together for a great cause – raising money for Autism and Prostate Cymru.
Management Team Locked In!
Richard Kelly, current Ospreys Forwards Coach and previous Head Coach at Carmarthen Quins, was one of the men who appointed Pughie as captain, he knows him inside out and is a close friend. He will drive urgency and standards as Head Coach. Rumour has it his boots may go on!
Richard Hibbard, 38 caps for Wales and 3 appearances for the British & Irish Lions. Hibbs has the great job of Social Sec and dishing out the fines. Expect plenty of Mortal Bunny Rum flying around!
Pat Horgan, ex-Neath Head Coach, will look after the backs. Pughie worked closely with Pat in Wales U19’s, U20’s, and during his time at Neath. He has a huge amount of respect for the way Pat operates.
Leon Randell will play the role of Team Manager and Defence Coach. Leon would have been flying around the park if it wasn’t for a second ACL knee reconstruction. He is respected by Pugh both on and off the field.
Dr. Craig Dyson will handle all medical needs on the day. A close friend of Pugh’s, Craig worked with him throughout his Premiership career at all clubs, keeping him in one piece. He’s definitely one to watch in the bar after the game.
Gareth “Bulldog” James, who played rugby with Pugh at Neath and is renowned for his training and fitness, will head up the S&C. He will provide all additional supplements needed to get some of these boys through 80 mins.
Stay tuned for more updates and exciting news as we gear up for an unforgettable day. Let’s make this event one to remember!
