Carmarthen Quins return to Carmarthen Park on Saturday 12th October for the fifth round of Super Rygbi Cymru.
Saturday’s opposition, Pontypool RFC, currently sit in fifth position in the league table having secured two wins from the opening four rounds, collecting a haul of 12 points.
Quins’ defeat to Cardiff RFC last weekend, saw us fall to 8th in the table but only a point behind Pontypool.
Only three points separate the teams in third to eighth position, proving that every game and every point counts in this season’s Super Rygbi Cymru competition.
Captain Tom Phillips, lock Josh Helps, try-scoring machine Lewis Morgan and back rower Lewys Millin return to the side this weekend, bringing with them a wealth of experience to steady the pack.
With two wins from two at Carmarthen Park, Quins will be keen to continue their successful run at home this Saturday.
Looking ahead to Saturday’s clash, Director of Rugby Steff Thomas said; “We’re looking forward to returning to Carmarthen Park on Saturday and want to continue to build on the park being a difficult place for opposition teams to come.
“We’re committed to continuing our work developing the next generation of Welsh rugby stars, and growing depth in the squad is something that takes time as well as a few setbacks along the way. The important thing is that we continue to learn from those setbacks.”
