1st XV host Llandovery in Premiership Cup

With a sustained period where we had no rugby to watch we are only to glad to have our weekly fill of rugby and this week what a game for our first home game in the Cup where our Towy Valley adversaries Llandovery visit the park.

The mood will be different than it was for the pre-season fixture earlier this month when the Quins ran out worthy winners at Church Bank where both teams fielded a large number of players as preparations took a step up. This is cup rugby and both teams will be eager to get the W.

Both teams come into the game on the back of fine victories with the Quins hitting Bridgend for 6 on the road with 6 fine tries in an all round performance and score of 38pts to 15pts that pleased supporters and coaches alike. Llandovery hosted Swansea last time out and ran out winners 21pts to 5pts.

We all appreciate that form goes out the window when it comes to Derby games and this will be no different, we only have to look at the 2019/2020 season when the Quins with their high flying performances were held to a draw at  Church Bank 13 all and a 14 -12 defeat at home against the Drovers. There will be everything to play for as both teams will look to build on the opening weeks success.

It is a given that former Quins hooker and current Head Coach of Llandovery Euros Evans will be keen to add to his sides success rate and get one over on his old friends again and the Quins coaching contingent will not take anything for granted and will look to continue to use their strengths but also deploy plays that have yet to be seen.

It promises to be a big day at the Quins with the upstairs fully booked for a Supporters welcome back to the club event and entrance to the park on Saturday will be free for all as a thank you to all our loyal supporters who have kept the club going when we have been able to re-open.

Kick off is 2.30pm on Saturday and lets Pack the Park and get behind the Mighty Quins.

The squad for Saturday is below and we are backing the boys.
