PLAYING RECORD
Giles made his first appearance for the Quins 1st XV away to Glamorgan Wanderers on the 7th September 1996.
In his eleven seasons with the Quins, Giles amassed a total of 1561 points made up of 19 tries; 269 conversions; 298 penalties and 24 drop goals. This is still a club record.
Giles still holds a number of club records which can be found on the feature “Player Statis- tics” e.g. he scored 444 points in the 2001/02 season with a Welsh League record for that season of 85 penalties.
He is one of a handful of players to have completed the “Big 4” in a game i.e. try/penalty/ conversion/drop goal which he managed against Pontypool at the Park on the 4th November 2000.
Giles is still seen by Quins supporters as the outstanding player of his generation.
He made the last 3 for the Quins Dream Team 1950-2000 eclipsed only by another star of his time in Derek Lewis.
Giles made his last Quins 1st XV appearance at the Park against Waunarlwydd on the 14th April 2007.
