Quins team named for last game of regular season

Carmarthen Quins will welcome Ebbw Vale to Carmarthen Park on Saturday 11 April in the final round of the regular Super Rygbi Cymru season.

Ebbw Vale are currently top of the league table and have secured their place in the top six ahead of the knockout stages of the competition.

With Quins currently sitting in seventh position in the table, it’s all to play for as we currently trail RGC in sixth by four points. RGC welcome Bridgend to Stadiwm Eirias and will be hoping for a victory over the ninth placed Ravens.

A seventh-place finish will see Carmarthen Quins head into the Wildcard round next weekend.

Evergreen second row Lee Taylor will lead the side at the Park with the coaches making changes to the side that took on Aberavon last weekend.

Ifan James returns at loosehead with Scarlets’ Harri O’Connor taking his place on the tighthead, partnering try-scoring hooker Lewis Morgan in the front row.

Jac Price, who made his way through the ranks at Quins before joining Scarlets partners captain Taylor in the second row, while his regional teammate Tristan Davies joins Lewys Millin and Iestyn Richards in the back row.

Rhodri Lewis returns to the scrum half berth partnering Elis Price, who made his return from injury last weekend.

Gabe McDonald and Jac Howells retain their places in midfield with Quins graduate Tomos Lewis maintaining his place on the wing. Scarlets’ Thomas Williams returns to partner Ifan Davies in the back three.

Experienced scrum half Rhodri Davies is named on the replacements bench as he looks set to make a return to the playing field after sustaining an injury back in November.
