Leggatt-Jones handed first Scarlets start

Carmarthen Quins’ Carwyn Leggatt-Jones has been named in Scarlets starting XV for the BKT URC clash against Benetton on Friday 30 January.

Leggatt-Jones, just 18 years of age, has been handed his first URC start as the Scarlets travel to the Italian town of Treviso for the Round 11 game.

A product of Carmarthen Quins’ successful junior section, Carwyn starred for Llandovery College in their Welsh Schools and Colleges cup final victory at the Principality Stadium in 2025. Capped at Under 18s and U19s, he’s named in Richard Wiffin’s squad for the U20s Six Nations.

Carwyn made his Carmarthen Quins debut this season at the age of 17.

Scarlets Interim Director of Rugby Nigel Davies said; “He’s hugely skilled, he plays with his head up and he understands the game.

“But how he is actually going to fare under pressure we will see, but we will work with him and I’m very excited about where he can get to.

“He’s been around the players for quite a while now. He’s confident as a young man which is exactly what you want from your tens.”

Another of Quins’ junior section products, Jac Price, is named in the starting line-up.

21-year-old Iori Badham, who has made six appearances in Quins colours this season, is also named on the bench for the Italian clash.
