Carmarthen Quins 2nds. hosted Waunarlwydd at a sun drenched Abergwili and came away with another bonus point victory, winning by 55 points to 25. It was a game that saw the home side score some brilliant tries but also be guilty of some poor defending.
The Quins had too much pace behind for the Swansea side with wings, Martain Penhallurick and Lloyd Williams simply outstanding finishing with five tries between them. Evergreen team manager, Simon Rogers, stepped in at scrum half and proved an excellent link between backs and forwards. Dion Howells performed well in defence and Rhys Schiavone was always looking to counter attack.
Up front the Quins had to dig deep. Waunarlwydd kept coming at them and for long periods in the second period the home side could not get their hands on the ball. Dai Halpin, Rickie Davies, Liam Fitzpatrick and Osian Davies were the pick of the forwards.
Despite this victory the Quins realise that they will have to up their game next week against a Whitland side which has also started the season well.
