For their third game of the season the 2nd. XV travelled to Bonymaen and returned with a convincing 37 – 15 victory. The Quins simply had too much pace, power and game management for their opponents. Bonymaen is a difficult place to go and the Quins camp can be thrilled by this bonus point victory.
The win was based around the physical effort provided by the pack backed up by some huge defensive work from the back line. The pack were simply awesome led by captain, Rickie Davies, Dane Bush, having his best game and the back row of Gordon Lewis, Mathew Morgan and Aled Tawr smashing everything that moved.
Dai Halpin stood in for Ollie Thomas at scum half and fly half, George Gleeson was outstanding in the way he controlled the game. The centres, Dion Howells and Glyn Davies were tireless in defence and the back three of John Gosling, Liam Fitzpatrick and Tom James were everywhere looking for work.
The win was all about attitude combined with the results of improved fitness levels achieved in the summer with coaches Mike James and Steve Beynon. Once again the whole squad was used and the result will give the team that extra boost for the rest of the season.
